Description

This is the May. Day 13. Thirty-One days of Star Wars continues...

Redemption is the last of seven limited series published by Dark Horse between 1993 and 1998 that are set in the Tales of the Jedi era, set thousands of years before the events seen in A New Hope.

On Rhen Var, the powerless, exiled Jedi Ulic Qel-Droma continues to train Vima. [Soap opera style recap: Vima is the daughter of Nomi Sunrider, Ulic's former lover and the one responsible for severing his connection to the force after Ulic betrayed her and murdered his own brother.] Impressed with Vima's dedication and mastery of levitation, Ulic teaches her how to build her first lightsaber using her late father Andur Sunrider's Adegan crystals (before the term Kyber crystal becomes canon).

I was very pleased to pick this up on a CAL sales show earlier this year featuring Christian Gossett.

Build your own light saber! Nice! And he didn't charge 200 bucks!

I'm so surprised to read this was published back in the 1990's Dark Horse era. It just has a more contemporary look to it and I don't recall this particular series at all. Nice, fun lightsaber related scene though!

It definitely would fit right in with the look of the contemporary Marvel books.

This old Droma taught me to sing a love song
He showed me how to catch Tales of Jedi.
He introduced me to some friends of mine
And brightened up some days
And helped me Ulik thru some Rhen Var nights. Oh
What a friend to have, put on hold for claimy night

This lightsaber gave me my Gossett lady
It opened up her eyes and Force to me
It Forced us close for Vima
And I guess it broke her art
It Pepoys up the space for wars to be
What a Khyber place and a lovely space to me.

Awesome to have a page with a Jedi building their lightsaber with the pre-kyber crystal. Love seeing all the parts laid out on the table like that and sort of reminds me of the lightsaber building/modification elements that Cal Kestis can do in the Jedi Fallen Order / Jedi Survivor games

And drawn long before you could do it at the Disney parks!
