Milton Caniff - Terry and the Pirates - 12 June 1936

I have been on a Caniff quest of late and was fortunate to have been able to assemble four (4) consecutive Caniff dailies from Terry and the Pirates June 10-13 1936 where Pat has helped "Burma-ize" Mrs. Wingate.

This one is from the first storyline featuring Burma, the bad-good girl, who would become a fixture in the strip.

Here, Burma has separated the sheep, as it were, having convinced naive Mr. Wingate to take her on a sail around the island without his wife oblivious to the fact that Burma is making his wife jealous. In this strip, Burma and Wingate return from their sail expecting dinner, wondering where Wendy is as Pat stands to the rear smiling like a Chesire cat knowing what will come in the next saily.

On top of it all, this is one of those beautiful "blue wash" dailies.
