Description
I have been on a Caniff quest of late. This one is from the first storyline featuring Burma, the bad-good girl, who would become a fixture in the strip.

Here, Burma, along with Pat, Terry, and the gang, are shipwrecked on an island and discover the Wingates. Now, Pat has arranged to get everyone off the island. In this daily, Burma sits with Terry pondering her future if she goes back to the mainland. The last two panels are great shots of a distressed Burma

One of those beautiful "blue wash" dailies.

The blue is great!  It adds nice depth as a third color.  The Caniff lines and panel framing of each scene have a cinematic look from the movies of that era.

Great Burma daily.  Love the blue wash and the shadows.  1936 is such a great and transitional year for Caniff art.
