Phantoms of Venice

I wrote Les when someone posted the book cover on the Illustration Exchange. The book had not even been published yet and he was surprised I knew of it. The start of a small buying spree.

From his website, The cover for a collection of ten dark tales edited by David A. Sutton and published by Screaming Dreams, including stories by Conrad Williams, Tim Lebbon and Brian Stableford. I had a wide-open brief for this job. I wasn't really sure that it was going to work until I put the finishing touches to it. Although it's a quiet and restrained picture I think it's one of the best things I've done. The designer did a wonderful job with the typography too, so we ended up with a really stylish cover.
