Description

From 1966. The talent listed on this anthology book is spectacular - Wally Wood, Al Williamson, Jack Sparling, Gil Kane and Mike Sekowsky. Have never been a huge fan of Mike's work, but his style is distinctive and over the years I have come to appreciate his work for his story telling and his page layouts.

The other draw for me is the old sci-fi stuff is fun to try and find. When you add it is oversized art and not outrageously expensive a great way to add to my collection.

The inker being Joe Giella is possibly wrong as I see some information saying Joe or Frank Giacoia but both inkers were good at letting the pencil artist's style be the look of the final work.

The series is from Harvey Comics and only lasted 3 issues.

Space race comics stories were incredibly popular as the race to the moon was on and gripped the nation if not the world at what could be accomplished by mankind. Even more fun with the imagination of comics having unlimited sci-fi budgets getting into the fantastical.
