Description

This page is from the the very first issue and shows Ms. Tree - but certainly without her trademarked trench-coat. She still has the very pronounced kiss-curl that she wore in her early days of the strip. For the first 3 issues of the series, the title was the cumbersome MS. TREE'S THRILLING DETECTIVE ADVENTURES (since the comic was meant to be more than a single character series), so one can see in the top margin that the abbreviated title given is "Ms. Tree's." This is my 2nd original interior page to the historic first issue fior which terry Beatty was kind enough to sell me the cover). This page also shows two images of Mike Tree (Ms. Tree's late husband, based on Mike Hammer).

This page is page 3 of the 2nd chapter of the story "Death Do Us Part". The second chapter is entitled "Second Honeymoon." It is page 11 of the full comic book.

Ms. Tree was extraordinary in that it frequently dealt with controversial political and sexual issues, yet never used that as a venue to push a particular biased opinion.

That fifth panel with the half face is an image that always works for inner monologues since the days romance comics and is graphically striking to this day. Very nice page to win us over showing her vulnerable side and lovelorn desires.
