Description
Early Truman work and my only pure pencil piece by him.

"Yes, Rick, I'm sure it's a TSR piece. Perhaps for Dungeons magazine? Or it might be for SPI games. I graduated from the Kubert School in '81, did work for SPI, then some work for TSR's Dungeon magazine and then went on to become one of TSR's staff artists by late '81 or early '82. -Tim" -reply from Truman when I inquired about the other gaming piece in this gallery.

6-1/4" x 8-1/2"
Thanks Mitch!

He already had his own recognizable style, gritty and detailed. Very cool piece to add to your impressive Truman collection!

Thanks for showing TT so much love in your gallery.  I only have one measly piece, but I'm trying to carry the torch.  Great pencil piece and another fine example for your grand Truman collection.

Nice piece with so many of the Truman artistic hallmarks, even early in his career.

Awesome looking piece. He must be in the medical profession mask and all.

Oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi
Oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi, oi

See me ride out of the Dungeon
On TSR magazine
Out for all art I can get
If you know what I mean
Truman drew what’s left of these
And Kubert schooling’ right
Ain't got Dragon
Ain't got no knife
Don't you start no dice

'Cause I'm
(D&D) I'm alumni
(D&D) Or it’s SPI
(D&D) I'm a Telemohn
(D&D) Watch me pencils

Wow, this is a beautiful, tight penciled piece and it's REALLY GOOD for being from so early on. Never knew Truman had done anything in the RPG world, cool!

Beautiful work by Tim - and pure pencils, too!  Very cool!  I love the touch on this, especially the bent left arm coming out of the sleeve of the robe; nice long pencil strokes for the robe and great tight hatching on the skin.  "RPG" stands for "really pretty great", right?  Congrats, Rick!
