If you read comics in the 90s then most likely you read Wizard Magazine…. From a nostalgic standpoint I’m sure more people read these magazines than the average comic! One of the fun features they used to have was Basic Training.. where they got the hot artists of the time to do tutorials on how to draw characters. This one I remember well… Leinil Francis Yu who was the artist on Wolverine at the time showing the fans how to draw the character . I was recently able to pick up all three pieces of the art (thanks Anthony and Karim!). These are pure and very finished pencils by Yu .. you can tell by the detail he took this very seriously. Yu is very famous for his X-men art so very happy to add these early examples!

Every time I think of you
I feel shot of cool Leinil Francis Yu
It's no pencils of mine, but in the Wizard I find
Nineties art life that I can't leave behind
There's no sense in telling me
The wisdom of the fool won't Wolverine
But that's the way that it goes, draws from claws to the toes
Well, every day my collection grows

Every time I see Yu drawing
I pick up on all three and pay
I'm waiting for that final comment
To sing the words that I can't say

Glad you got all these together, man! Loved Wizard and all the features, including Basic Training. And that Wolvie pose is also such a nice example of YU'S Wolvie, and his run on the book. Congrats!
