Superman: Son of Kal-el #18, page 22 (Lex Luthor and Red Sin)

Jonathan Kent has taken up his father’s mantle of Superman. And when you’re Superman, it’s only a matter of time before villains find you. Luis Rojas, son of two former Lexcorp scientists, whose goal in life was to take down the Man of Steel, figures out a way to bond with his deceased parents’ project and becomes Red Sin. But Red Sin soon realizes that, even with his powers to replicate Krypton’s red sun’s radiation, it’s no easy task to take down the Men of Steel. He finds himself captured by Jon and Clark and locked away in a government facility. And when you come close to killing Superman, that puts you on Lex Luthor’s radar. Lex appears, in typical Lex fashion, as a hologram. He praises Luis and his parents for what they’ve done and offers to let him join in Lex’s plan to take down the Kryptonians. Has Jon Kent found his Lex Luthor? Has Lex found is own Robin? Only time will tell. The Son of Kal-el series has been enjoyable. I liked the development of Jon’s character and look forward to what the future holds. So it’s no surprise I found a Lex page from Cian Tormey and Scott Hanna. Cian is digital so this piece is Scott’s inks over Cian’s blue line pencils. Lex being Lex, recruiting a kid that may end up being Jon Kent’s arch enemy. Plus, it was the very last page of the series. A perfect fit for the ColLEXion.
