DescriptionWes did a number of homage covers for the first arc of KAYA (Mignola, Kirby, Adventure Time, Moebius, Frazetta) but I think this Miller homage is especially striking. Kaya and Jin leaping through the rain into adventure! It's a perfect example of the art of homage too by remaining distinctly Wes Craig even while leaning hard into Miller. I love the title of the book in the background there too.Social/Sharing |

As a fan of the extreme comfort I have found in the use of "flip flops", I find that Wes perfectly captures the overwhelming fear contained within me as it pertains to their use in the rain. I can almost feel their pain through the ink...knowing that when they eventually land on their feet, the squishy noise it'll make. It's writen on their faces. BTW, love the cover, great pick up!

Man, so dramatic! Love the energy, speed, movement...and the shadow inks, too?! Oh! I just noticed it spells out "KAYA" in the center background! Initially thought it was a lightning bolt. OK, this one really does have it all. Congrats!

Wow! This is utterly gorgeous! I cannot believe how much Wes has improved as an artist over the years. The technique here is incredible and as you say, he integrated the logo in spectacular fashion!
