Jon Haward (1965-2024) - Large Hulk Painting - 1999

Jon Haward (1965-2024 was a UK based comic artist who worked on a number of Marvel publications including Spectacular Spider-Man and Rampage, along with many other publications. This piece is a large painting he did for an exhibition of his work in Lowestoft, England in 1999.

It's a very well executed piece - maybe a bit TOO scary! Possibly Haward was exorcising some of his own demons when he painted it.

As the blog post describes, the artwork was originally housed in a fake brick work (chicken wire and plaster) frame making it look as though the Hulk was bursting through the wall.
