Cover art (and back cover -- see additional images) by Richard Powers for Alfred Bester's first short story collection "Starburst" (Signet, 1958). This is a good example of Powers' early representational SF work before he went more abstract, but you can see it starting even here ;)

FYI -- I am framing the back cover abstracted "sunburst" as a separate piece to create a diptych pair.

The cratered surfaces are great! So is the scarred up moon in the distance. The rocket ship is charmingly rudimentary from that early era of sci-fi!

Yes, his spaceships varied from flying modern sculptures and abstract shapes to an almost tinker toy construction. As you say, charming : )
