So happy you were able to make this one happen. This page was meant to be. Great piece.
Yep, wasn't going to let it visit Vegas and leave a second time. Tractor beam locked.
Now that he's back in con atmosphere
With drops of avatar artwork here, hey
He thanks the maker, thirty one days
Reminds me Chewbacca's lines and range, hey
Since the Return of Jedi Endor moon
Las Vegas in spring and Ewoks are doomed, hey
Hey, hey, yeah
But tell Fleecs, did you sail the Kessel run?
Did you make it to the claimy page to see the lines all faded
And that Wookiee's overrated?
And Jeffrey, Did you buy from a shooting star?
One with all the permanent art, and did you miss me
While you were posting avatar in square?
Na-na, na-na, na-na
Na-na, na-na, na-na, na, na
And did you finally get the chance,
To comment on it in the Marcus way?
Wait a sec, was Tony reserving this page for you until you could pick it up in person, or did he just coincidentally still happen to own the page that featured your avatar image?
I saw the page last year, and was partial to that Chewie panel, but opted for the next page in the book which included a few panels of the space action Chewie and Lando are involved in. At the time I didn't have the free cash to pick up both pages. So, life continued for a year, and when Tony came back for the show last month, I stopped at his table on the preview Friday and grabbed it. Purchase not worked out in advance, just had fingers crossed it would still be there.
I took the Falcon out for a spin this week. Our engineers let us down.
That's very serendipitous! But how were you using the image as your avatar, did you ask Tony to send you a scan of the page?
I clipped a preview scan of the art from his website. Which is why I figured I should make it legit and add the page to my collection and not just be a grubby computermachineinterwebs swiper.
Legit indeed!
Congrats on landing your avatar! Super fun page!
Adding your Avatar to the collection is a pretty great get haha!! These pages are a lot of fun, i'm still after an example
