Description
The BAND CONCERT is the first color animated short in the Mickey Mouse series. Released Feb. 23, 1935.
However, it was not the first time that some of these characters appeared on screen in color. Mickey Mouse and Clarabelle Cow appeared in Parade of the Award Nominees, a special color film created especially for the 1932 Academy Awards, while both Donald Duck and Peter Pig made their debut in the 1934 color Silly Symphony The Wise Little Hen. It might be noted that credit for the first color film goes to Alva Edison. It was a little thing called "Anna Belle -the Dancer"; but it moved, and was tinted in gorgeous hues. Those that saw it in 1894 i am sure were amazed. What we have here is the cover of The Christian Science Monitor's Weekly Magazine Section which was a survey of world affairs, dated April 3,1935.
