Description"Butch" Guice left Micronauts to originate the Swords of the Swashbucklers space pirate series for Epic Comics. He seemed to give special attention to art featuring Raader the pirate queen, making me suspect that she represented some one special in his own life. This piece appears to be a reference guide prior to publication of the series, though not a complete three-angle character turnaround. "The Captain" apparently did not have a name quite yet, but she did have measurements for her tailor. Guice omitted the bridge of her nose, an artistic choice mirroring Milton Caniff, one of Guice's favorite artists.Social/Sharing |
