That's a spicy meatball.
Wow, it's amazing how easily we can forget about art from just months earlier, as we move on to other titles and artists. This part of the overarching storyline, with Swamp Thing imbued with the Green Lantern's power and all the machinery coming to life, is so otherworldly! The 2nd panel image of Trinity is also really cool. Hail the new Avatar of Industry!
Great band! Oh, and the page is pretty rad, too. nice!
All this time
I knew some page you'd need to find
Swamp Thing that would lift the lines
Wash inks Perkins gives you
All these gears
And in the fight, love disappears
This art’s so good for souvenirs
And Trinity is forever
All this time
All in all, I've no sprockets
The run still shines, the clocks are set
And the swamp still lives, this art’s the best
Oh, what will I do now with cogs this time?
Great mix of gears, portrait, and organic forms on this atmospheric page! I thought about this one at the drop. Congratulations!
I love the different textures of the inks and that 2nd panel is just great. Beautiful page!
Far Out image and beautiful at the same time! Man!...this page just sings creativity.
Marvelous pièce - congratulations my friend !!!
Love the complement of wash to inks Also beautiful detail. Great piece.
Great "Terminator"-future battle action by this superb brit artist, huge congrats !
Awesome page, Rick! Man, this one features just about everything Mike could throw at it, doesn't it? A titanic (and Lantern-ring empowered) Swampy thumping on gearheads, while space cacti land in the background and Trinity shows she's more than capable of dismantling the threat of the Parliament of Gears on her own... Mayhem! Love the reversed-out "white shadow" (aaaaand now I'm thinking about old '70's TV shows...) in panel 4... Events build to a fever pitch in the lead-up to the final issue of this great run, and Mike is pulling out all the stops! Congrats, Rick!
