DescriptionI've been remiss in posting lately, so using the quiet weekend to catch up.. This great battle page from the origin of Wonder Man highlights to me once again how underrated Heck was. Here we have yet another Heck design that many think is the iconic version of his costume. Wonder Man, given powers by Zemo and the Masters of Evil, betrays the Avengers and battles Giant Man and Iron Man on this page.Social/Sharing |

Very cool formative issues of the team dynamic! When The Avengers went up against a single entity (Loki, Kang, etc.) early on, you know the powerset is off the charts with Wonder Man. Heck's battle impact hits harder when it's on large art!

I have so many fond memories of this issue and how excited I was about this "new" character (at the time). Fantastic action page by the great Don Heck. Loved Wonder Man's iconic original costume.

The older I get the more I appreciate and like Heck's art. This is a great page from a great origin page of a character I am so fond of. Congratulations Andrew!

Don Heck and Dick Ayers were so pivitol in the Marvel Siver Age.
