My special fondness for Dan's art is no mystery, so I'm very glad you've finally added a piece by him to your collection. Congrats and welcome to the club!

While the 60's were Marvel's classical age, I thought the 70's were a wonderful renaissance period for them as well.  While probably regarded as second tier characters at the time, clever and colorful creations like Deathlok, Ghost Rider, Man-Thing, Killraven, Brother Voodoo, and so many others, came and went without much fanfare.  For some, it would take another 10-20 years to reach their full potential as viable commerical properties.  But as a lifelong Marvel zombie, I loved them right out of the gate.  Deathlok was a personal fave.  Like so many of the 70's creations, he was so interesting visually.  Always puts a smile on my face to see any modern artist tackling him.  Great sketch!

A painting classified as a sketch is still a painting.  The quality is way up on these mystery sketches!  Very fortunate to have Brereton pick your choice.

Fantastic pairing of artist and subject, and for it to happen as a CALive mystery sketch is a brilliant turn of events!  Very easy to see why you're over the moon about this one, Rick - great colors and a piercing gaze...  Congrats, man!
