Description

These early DnA Guardians were a ton of fun. The team was coming off of the first Annihilation event and felt fresh but also cohesive. Here Mantis and Major Victory (Vance Astro), who has just come out of a frozen block of time, catch him up on the team and time. It's the first hint that the two Guardians teams are linked in some way.

Pelletier had returned to Marvel a few years earlier after a stint at Crossgen. He was bouncing around a little when he landed the launch of this title. While not a great success saleswise, it certainly had a huge impact on the MCU.

The heavy borders were a staple for the issues that Pelletier and Magyar did together. The amount of ink it took to create them is a obvious when you have the page in hand.

I got this page directly from Paul in about 2016 at Baltimore Comic Con.

Fantastic page! Paul and Brad Walker tag teamed the art and made a truly special series.

Stemming from this run, Paul's War of Kings remains his best work in my opinion.
