Description

Hard to believe now that there was a time when Black Panther comics were hard to come by. He wasn't regularly featured in any books and his own solo book had been cancelled almost a decade before. But then Denys Cowan and Sam DeLarosa burst onto the scene with the art of this fantastic mini and all was right with the world for a little while.

The mini itself didn't light the world on fire but the art definitely grabbed some attention. It propelled the Panther from his 70s look into something more modern without a drastic change. It also rooted him on the outskirts of superheroics in a way that Priest ran with another decade later.

Bought this quiet page from Mike Burkey in a 2022 Dueling Dealers episode.

Very nice 80's references in the dialogue, but it's the fashions and the tone that make this a stylish erotic thriller piece of the 80's.

Nice moment from a great 4 issue mini - Marvel put a lot of those out at the time! Great shot in those last 2 panels, and I dug how Cowan had the cat eyes on T'Challa in this book. Congrats!
