DescriptionDone in 1974 and apparently unpublished.Rudy thought he might have done this for a Warren publication but in 1974 he was mostly doing work for Marvel. His Warren work appears to have started in the late 70's. So it is possible it may have been done as a promo for Marvel's Satana. The original has suffered some water damage so I will be getting a conservator to look at it. Social/Sharing |

All I wanna do when I wake up in the morning is see your lines
Satana, Satana
I never thought that a girl like you could ever scare Rudy
Satana
All I wanna do in the bondage of the evening is run in fright
Satana, Satana
I didn't know you were drawing for more than I could ever see
Not quite a year since the devil's play
Satana, yeah
Now she's drawn, and I have to say
Meet you double page
Meet you double page
Satana, yeah
Meet you all the way
Meet you all the way
Satana, yeah

An absolutely stunning piece of rare Satana art by Rudy Nebres. His rendering is as tight and beautiful as anything he did after this!

Killer drawing by the incredible Rudy Nebres! Funny that he doesn't remember who or what he drew it for, because it's such a strikingly memorable image. Nevertheless, it's a fascinating piece with bizzare floating heads and plants with eyeballs growing like flowers. And most notably, a sorceress of some sort (Satana?) threatening to unleash all these horrors on the chained-up woman and the man defending her. Bizzare but cool.

It was done almost 50 years ago and Rudy is 86. I don't blame him for not remembering.

Congrats 🎊 🎉. This 1974 double page spread really does look spectacular considering that is does have imperfections & water damage. I know that Rudy is so glad that it went to collector who would appreciate it

Very creepy and eerie. The face in the middle looks a bit like Nosferatu. Let the nightmares commence.
