Nea'ese. Had to respond in RW's language :) And mine - ahehee! Glad you like the page! Thanks, John, and all, for the comments!
Oh yeah....you are back like a spine with a stunning title splash
Nice splash.
I remember this splash very well. While I have zero recollection of the story itself, I always loved it when Marvel paid homage to Native Americans in comics. They deserved and still deserve so much better. Congrats on landing this one, brother, it's in the perfect collection!
Yeah, man, it ain't often, so alway enjoy seeing indigenous heroes books, especially on the Marvel front. Appreciate the comment, man, and stay tuned - I'll have more RW and Native art comin'!
I guess the time was right for us to say
We'd take our time and live Owayodata page by page
We'll make a wish and get inked from McKenna
We know our dreams can all come true with Wolf of Javier
With you I never wonder
Will you be MCP?
With you in desert wander
You bring Saltares for me
I finally found Red Wolf of the art line
A Wolf to last my whole life through
I finally found Red Wolf of a lifetime
Avenger in my art
I finally found Red Wolf of the art line
With heavy guilt, our Wolf is like brand-new
And every tear up in the sky was made for me and Wolf
Still we both know that the road is long
We know that he will be Avenger
Because our Wolf is strong
Dynamic splash on a character lost in time, I don't know much on Red Wolf or this Wolf god, but would certainly be interesting to learn more or see him come to modern books.
What an amazing splash!!!!! I like it very much! Huge congrats Kahlil!
Impressive splash with great use of layering and depth!
Very unique page. Enjoy the imagery!
This looks awesome & beautiful
How many fingers am I holding up? If you said 5, you are right boys and girls. Who said marvel comics weren't educational? Congrats!
KG Presents: Beautiful and scenic title splash with a screentoned wolf god! I like it a lot!
Such a great splash my friend!
Whooaaa! Absolutely stunning splash page by Javier Saltares and Mark McKenna! And it features an enormous Wolf God the size of Galactus! I'd say you scored a big one here! Serious congrats!
Hope you enjoy it for a long time!!
You know it, brother, and thanks again! "tis in a good home :)
Love this piece, the history, the layout... just awesome man.
Fantastic piece. One for the wall for sure!
So much work in this killer splash! Cannot wait for the next ones,
I loved those Red Wolf stories, which also introduced me to the character, along with Bengal! Great acquisition!
Thanks, Travis! Cool there are others that dug these stories, AND like both characters as a result. I MAY have a post coming featuring the latter guy :)
Very cool title splash!!!
Whoa! That's some nice imagery there! Congrats, K-Gear!
What a great title splash! I love the look of Owayodata, and all the Native imagery is so beautiful.
Oooh another neat one! I loved MCP!
Beautiful page with the emerging Wolf and the top down scenic perspective!
Great page! I loved this title growing up and it was because of stories and art like this.
Congrats KG - Fantastic Native imagery, and I know how much it must mean to you on multiple levels to have a piece like this. Awesome!
Really great splash with lots of landscape textures and imagery; I really like the details given to the encampment, too - very nice! But it's really hard to focus on anything but that powerful Owayodata image! The use of the screen tone is perfect to pop the image, and the way his fingertips break out of the panel also underscores the feeling of... "apparitionism"...? He's reaching for you with everything he's got! Another great add, K! Congrats!
A beautifully done, majestic splash. Congrats on the pickup!
