Great page!
I thought it was the first Charlie Brown in Marvel with his first line being, "Good Grief"! If you have to have a fantastic torture scene, let it be by one of the greats in Carlos Pacheco.
For a spit second, the 2nd panel did make me think of Hellboy! The Margali scene i nthe final panel actually reminds me of Ralph Wiggum, when he was put into a similar cage and spouts the classic line, "My insulin!".
Okay, not the memories you were hoping the page would evoke for someone, but that fact that it DOES eveoke them is what makes the art FUN for me, so it's all good. Lovely perspective Pacheco shot the last scene from. I can't say for sure which one of the two inkers worked on this page because I don't actually see either of their styles here, but I'm leaning towards Wiacek, as he's an old school inker and the inking on the full figure Belasco image shares similarities to the work of Tom Palmer, another even older school inker. Lovely page overall!
Pacheco certainly proved here that he could draw horror with the best of them. An outstanding talent gone way too soon.
Sweet!
Very impressive, Congrats!!
An excellent example why Carlos Pacheco deserves to be considered a modern master of this art! Excellent en very powerful composition!
Twisted and pretty awesome splashy Pacheco page, enjoy all your tidbits and analysis. I think you might win this as 1st Hellboy (as Belasco) in Marvel. Congrats on this beauty.
The horror, the horror.
Man, combo of layout of panels as well as what's going on in-panel blends for a super impressive page. Those long vertical panels, and the choice to go downward perspective in the splashy shot...so cool, and not easy to pull off! Congrats!
