Well the stars aligned for something I never thought would happen� I was firmly in the belief I was priced out of the greatest comic run ever.. Claremont/Byrne/Austin is universally thought of as one of the best teams and the prices have absolutely soared because of it. Now I know this one doesn�t have Wolverine scratching anyone or really any costumed people, but it is perfect for me! Some of you know I�m a big Phoenix fan and this page is one of the first times Claremont is showing just how powerful Jean has become! It�s also from the first issue Byrne worked on so that�s historic too! The energy in this page is just seeping off the page.. the Phoenix eyes in the first panel are burning through you the 3rd panel allusion of ying and yang of positive vs negative is so well done and a bird of flame to close it! So awesome! Byrne and Austin were definitely showing off on there first issue of the run.

Not sure if the market is softening or just a matter of it kind of slipping through the cracks of the platinum part of Ha� but I am SO happy it wound up where I could afford it!

There aren't minor pages from that saga and run. All pages from Claremont / Byrne / Austin have something special. A lind of magical touch that make them very likeable. This one is not different. It is very special to hava at home a page of that legendary run. Enjoy it Jason and huge congrats!
