Gamora (Jim Starlin costume) by Brian Stelfreeze

I have been admiring Brian's work for many many years now but it is really difficult meeting him since he rarely comes to Europe. However one of my friends was able to arrange a Starfire commission for me last year in 2022 (you can see it here: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1922964). When the artwork came, I was super happy with it but still, I decided that I would like something else from him in the future.

When he was announced for Lake Como Comic Art Festival in 2023 , I was extremely hyped. I wanted to set up a commission for a 9x12 colored headshot so I sent some character ideas to Brian to cherry pick. He said that he has a great Gamora concept in mind but it could be a 12x18 type of more elaborated commission. I did not hesitate at all and jumped on the opportunity. It was an great decision because the outcome is STUNNING. This artwork is one of my favourites in my collection and it is even more amazing in person. At some point, I will try to make a proper scan of it.

Anyway those who doesn't know him, Brian is a super nice person and a brilliant mind. We had great long talks and I am really happy that I could finally meet him in person. Hope to see him again soon.
