Description

The Black Cauldron Taran, Eilonwy, and Gurgi Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1985). Gurgi helps hasten the chemistry between Taran and Princess Eilonwy in this great hand-painted production cel from the Disney animated film The Black Cauldron. Believed to be dead, Gurgi surprises everyone as he turns up to be as alive as ever, and being his old mischievous self, he pulls Taran and Eilowny together, causing the accidental kiss that can be seen at the 1:15:14 mark of the movie.

Beautiful Cell!! This was one of my favorite series as a kid. I was especially happy when Lloyd Alexanders book was produced by Disney. My Dad was one of the investors in Silver Screen Partners III that produced The Black Cauldron.

Your dad knew that this series was in direct contrast to The Cronicles Of Narnia. Yes, it was similar, but none of the religious providence was implicit.

My son also loved this series, and as a matter of fact, I took him to see LLoyd Alexander at our local Elementary school over 30 years ago. We have of picture from that meeting.

My son just had his first child, and is reading The Book of Three to him currently.
