Description

This is a prelim to the wonderfully whimsical painting of a lone Jawa standing ready to protect his pals. The late comic artist Greg Theakston originally experimented with a Princess Leia concept before changing course to working on the Jawas. The prelim was submitted to Sean Taggart, the Topps Project Manager at the time for approval. Theakston�s finished Jawas painting made it into the very first Star Wars Galaxy trading card series and you can check out this artwork HERE

Hah! I just love this image of the little Jawa carrying the big wrench! Fantastically detailed prelim--I actually like it better than the finish! Fantastic pick-up!

They're cute little guys once you know them and understand their motivations. Really fun with just one Jawa sticking their neck out.

I love that they're the mini-sized used car & parts dealer in the Star Wars universe. :)
