DescriptionThe Abolition of Man; bookplate art by Carson Grubaugh (2023)by Carson Grubaugh (1981- ) 11 x 14 in., ink on paper When he needed art for the bookplate that went into the deluxe hardcover edition of “The Abolition of Man” (with its AI-generated images), Carson ended up taking an old school solution – ink on paper. It’s a super-clean and compelling piece. Added images: (1) action shot of the bookplate and (2) the masonite it was in (hee!) Social/Sharing |

This geometric abstract is as cool as if it was an actual statue made out of granite. The textures on this bring to mind the various grains of coarse to fine found within stone.

This is exactly why Carson ended up doing it the way he did. I wish I post a sensory version --- the different textures in the large figure are raised and so you get a very cool tactile difference

Reminds me a bit of Le Corbusier's Vitruvian Man. Very cool and powerful image here!
