Carson Grubaugh came to the attention of comics fans when he stepped in as the designated hitter for Dave Sim on doing photorealist art chores after Sim's wrist put him substantially out of commission. I like Carson's work a lot. He's also a Professor of Art and works in other media just as deftly as he does in pen and ink. His super power is seeing the spatial relationships between things so well that he has a kind of freehand ability to commit to ink, with no sketch or outline, interpretations of photos and drawings. It's pretty freaky and super-cool. The one uber-awesome project that Carson worked on that is not here is a 5-page story that I wrote, and that he and Gerhard collaborated on, called "Take On Me." Either search on Carson's name or see Gerhard's gallery, for those pages.
