Description

To kick off my weekly Freas Friday posts, I thought I'd go with this black and white interior illustration, which ties in to a painting I posted about a few weeks ago. We were fortunate to recently acquire the Frank Kelly Freas cover painting for Astounding, April 1954. That cover, as well as this illustration which appeared in that issue, both illustrate "Fighting Philosopher" by E.B. Cole.

The surface texture makes this one look even more special with the different and now extra tones used.
