DescriptionNo big story here. Just another fun treat from the wonderful imagination (and gifted hands) of the great Fred Hembeck. Visually, I’ve always liked Mole Man as a character. I kind of see him as Marvel’s answer to DC’s Penguin in a way. A short, round, stumpy guy with a Liberace cape and a stick that’s taller than he is, who looks to be wearing a pair of those cheap 3D glasses they used to give away at the movie theater in the old days. I’m sure he was never intended to be a funny, or even campy, character. But scary or threatening is just about the last thing you think of when you look at him. He’s really is a perfect candidate for getting the Hembeck treatment. The more you look at him, the more you might think he was actually created by Fred. LOL! Anyway, when he popped up on Fred’s eBay page, I couldn’t resist. I can see now how easily one can become addicted to these fabulous Hembeck sketch cards. For the money, and for the amount of enjoyment you get out of them, you just can’t beat it. Now I can’t imagine going for a hundred Hembeck pieces that way I did with Art Adams. But if it did happen, I’d be the least surprised person in the room.

Well they are a lot smaller so you are going to have to go for a thousand.

Don't know if you are trying to kill me with laughter, or just kill me.

The first villain of the Marvel Age of Comics! No matter how big they get, that's something Dr. Doom, Magneto, the Green Goblin and the rest can never take away from the Mole Man!

Fred Hembeck sketch pieces are definitely addictive. I got swept up in them a while back on eBay myself. And here Fred draws a perfect Mole Man. Super!!

Oooh, great idea. I know he's done the FF individually, but would love to see a team card. Hope Fred gets the itch to do one soon (unless he's already done one and I missed it). Thanks for the comment buddy!
