DescriptionGray Morrow : Barbara Cartland Romances Sunday Comic Strip dated 6-28 (United Feature Syndicate, 1981). Gray Morrow was the perfect artist for the job of turning Barbara Cartland's successful romance stories into the comic strip format. Ink and Zipatone shading film over graphite on Bristol board, with an an image area of 19.5" x 13.5". There is mild toning, stat text and image paste-up corrections, spots of adhesive staining, edge and handling wear, marginal tape stains and pinholes, creasing, and some of the shading film is coming lose and/or discolored. Morrow's illustrative realism is a strong point to his art and perfectly adapts to this sweeping romance strip. People were eating this up in the early 80's with period romance costume dramas doing very well.
