Finch - Disturbed: Indestructible Special Edition Album Cover

I can't believe it own this piece! I've always loved David Finch's work and I'm a huge fan of the band Disturbed. So my jaw hit the floor when I saw this piece in David's portfolio. David graciously filled me in on the story behind it, and after hearing that, I had to have it! Apparently, David was approached by the band to do a cover for them. He candidly told me that he generally didn't do that kind of work, but he too is a huge Disturbed fan and couldn't pass up the opportunity to work with them. So, after getting the new album's name and some minor directions from the band he started designing this cover. After receiving some more feedback from the band, they decided to change things up slightly for their final cover by having Mr. Smiley's arms extend down to his sides - more like David's character studies - and putting Smiley in front of a wall of flames - as if he's walking out of the flames. However, David did reveal to me that this was always his preferred design and was used as an alternate cover (attached). Furthermore, the final design was all done digitally, so this is the only physical art of this cover. Hearing this, sold me. I had to have this in my collection and David was gracious enough to sell it. I'm still pinching myself that I own this piece of rock history.
