Drowning in the harbor of Vina del Mar, Erwin Rogers gets a psychic contact from his vampiric Master, who congratulates him for being as faithful a servant as his father was. Then Condor fades away:
“Goodbye, Erwin Rogers.”
“Nooo! Don't abandon me! I don't want to die!”
(Harlan snaps Erwin out of his trance. They are floating near the burning boat.) “Keep your head up! Breathe, Erwin Rogers! Spit the water out, damn it! Breathe!”
“Splut! Urrggh! Cough!”
“Like that, damn it. Like that!”
“The… the fire!”
“Don't worry. Tesla brought us back up some distance from the burning patch of gasoline.”
“The vampire? And she's the one who…?”
“Sure. We couldn't have done it without her. But now she's at the end of her strength. Only human blood can save her, and mine is poison for her.”
“I only dreamed of dying. I'm… still alive!”
“All three of us are alive, but we might not be around for much longer. Hold on tight. I can't hold you.”
“Why did you save me? To feed your vampire friend?”
“You're sharp, Erwin. After all, that would be both logical and moral: You were the one who reduced her to that state.”
“I wanted to kill her, kill both of you. I almost did it.”
“Of course! Sacrificing yourself too, you damn idiot.”
“I should try again. But I don't… have the strength.”
“It's the survival instinct. Sometimes it even surfaces in fanatics.”
“I can't… hold on anymore. And you're worse off than me. We'll die anyway.”
(Harlan sees Kurjak approaching in a motorized raft.) “Maybe not, Erwin. Maybe not.”
(Kurjak drives them back to the covered dock.) “Lucky for us that the former owner of this villa left a small fleet at our disposal.”
(Tesla) “Lucky that you… never waste time in acting, soldier boy.”
“I followed the whole scene with binoculars. And, to tell the truth, I was afraid I wouldn't find even your crumbs.”
“You forgot… how tough Harlan and I are?”
(Kurjak carries Tesla.) “Come on, little one. Now you need my help.”
(Detective Lopez holds a gun on Rogers.) “Come on, get out! And don't try any tricks, because I won't hesitate to shoot. Are you hurt, Harlan?”
“Don't worry about me, Detective Perez. And don't lose sight of Erwin Rogers.”
“Erwin Rogers… that's the name of this scoundrel? There was a CIA agent with the same name.”
“That was my father, Alan Rogers.”
(Teresa Lopez) “We caught the big fish, Commander Baldwyn. It looks like the killer of Melvin and Sandri is Alan Rogers' son.”
(Baldwyn) “He's following in his father's footsteps.”
(Ernesto Guerrero, Rogers' quarry) “Are you Alan's son?”
“Yeah, I know you knew him, Señor Guerrero. Since I couldn't kill you, I'd like to tell you about my father, if the ones who captured me will give me a chance… because I'm afraid that they want to offer my blood to this vampire!"
(Guerrero) "You don't really want…?"
(Baldwyn) "How did you find us so quickly, Rogers?"
"Your huge camper certainly didn't go unnoticed. It was easy, almost like you did it on purpose, to let me find you. Was that how it was?"
"More or less. We were the bait to lure you into a trap, Rogers. It was Harlan's idea… a risky plan, but he was counting on Tesla to get you."
(Harlan) "Coming from the sea, you almost made it! You're sharp."
(Rogers) "Not sharp enough, apparently. You're a real tough guy, Harlan Draka. Aren't you going to do anything about that little arm wound I caused?"
"I'll handle that. Sit down, Harlan."
"There's no need, Teresa. The bullet passed without touching the bone. See? The wound has already healed."
"Good heavens! He shot you an hour ago… and the scar looks a week old!"
"One of the perks of being a vampire…"
(Rogers) "Amazing! This makes me a little better about my failure. Even for a smart guy like me, it's not very easy to take out someone who's already dead, and a guy who heals so quickly… Wait a second, vampire! If you went to so much effort to take me alive, maybe it's not just to quench the thirst of your undead girlfriend."
"Naturally. But depriving you of a liter or two of blood won't kill you, Erwin. Sooner or later we will turn to you, if there is a need. But not this time. Someone else is taking care of Tesla… a voluntary donor…"
