Classic Kirby! Love it!
Oh, yay! I love anything this early in the Marvel silver age.
Nice!
It doesn't get any better than this.
Bechara has a way of coming up with desirable pages. Every panel, every character lovingly penciled by the king and beautifully finished by a true legend Chic Stone. This is the top shelf gallery add.
X9 marks the spot!
My dear friend, one of us had to throw the first salvo.......
And they say Kirby is not a top 5 X-Men artist? Those people should be ashamed! This has compelling unrequited love and most of the X-Men displaying their powers without you even realizing it because you're caught up in the storytelling.
It's simply incomprehensible that the King can be overlooked on any title he worked on. For the most part, he would create 95% of the characters, the core interpersonal relationships, origins, and visual style for everyone to follow. Most of the artists who work on these titles stand in awe at the sheer magnitude of his creative genius. The mere handful of pages that Kirby illustrated outlining the relationship between Scott and Jean created the epicenter of this title for decades to come.
Lovely "character" page with X-powers on full display! Also great Stone inking.
Boy, just seeing this page gives me a thrill! This era of Kirby inked by Stone was pure joy. His layouts on what could be a faily mundane page elevates this to iconic status
I personally think Stone was Kirby's best inker in the X-Men and Avengers run. A lesser inker could lose all the magic that Stone extracted from Kirby's pencils on this page. Thanks very much for your appreciative comment.
Fantastic and beautiful early X page, great history and art. Huge congrats!
Very nice page! Congratulations
High praise from the curator of such a fine collection.
Sweet - let's see some more!
I'll see what I can do.....
Seeing this is dream like, the King at his height, in his pomp
No costumes or crazy Kirby machinery, but still a classic Kirby page that highlights his skill as an artist and storyteller. Huge congrats!
Woww wonderful page, great congratulations
