Elric & the Sleeping Sorceress by Frank Brunner (2004)

That Yyrkoon is such a rascal. Kidnapping his own sister and placing her in a deep sleep. You wouldn't think he would do such a thing to his sister and his cousin Elric. Wait a sec... Yyrkoon and Elric are cousins! Yyrkoon and Cymoril are siblings! That means if you dot the i's, cross the t's and carry the 1's then that makes Cymoril and Elric (gulp) cousins. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

What happens in Melniboné, stays in Melniboné. Besides, if it's good enough for Jerry Lee Lewis ;)

Not to worry though, Stormbringer soon put an end to that nonsense.

Brunner's talent for fantasy art is breathtaking!  This is a beauty!

Man, what a feather touch with the graphite!  Great detail on the main figure, and what a gorgeous profile head shot on the sleeping sorceress.  Congrats!

Phenomenal! What Frank Brunner can achieve with just a pencil is mindblowing! Look at all the intricate detail he put into his drawing of Elric from his horned helmet to the elaborately ornamented armor and his flowing cape. And check out the sleeping sorceress, gorgeously portrayed with detailed hair and realistically draped dress, surrounded by a row of delicate flowers. The whole thing is a stunning work of art by a pencil-wielding wizard!

Yowza! That's the best Brunner pencil commission I've ever seen. Classic Brunner design with the ornate Window facing and framing of the flowers.  I think the subject matter must have really inspired him; those are finished pencils and then some. Everything about this piece is perfect. Cymoril is drop-dead gorgeous...

I hope you have it in a nice spot protected from those pesky photons ;-)
