DescriptionCLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!10x14.5" thick artboard has mixed media original art by prolific and renowned Spanish comics cover artist Rafael López Espí. Cover is for Sargento Rock Vol. 1 #11, which reprints various Sgt. Rock stories from "Our Army At War". Published in Spain c. 1980 Mundi. Artboard has been hand-painted from edge to edge w/art showing a original composition that was based on panel from the US issue story "A Man Called ...Rock!" by Joe Kubert. Action scene of Sgt. Rock hanging from a rope on a cliff and downing an ME109 with his Thompson machine gun. Lt. aging/handling wear. Art remains bright and clean. Displays VF. A wonderful example from the era when Espí's art dominated covers of Spanish comic books, featuring DC's most popular military character and is unsigned by artist. Superb and dynamic cover art.
