Uncanny X-Men 486 p 9 - Tan and Miki

I loved what Brubaker, Tan, and Miki did with Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire back in 2007 or so. Ed grabbed a great mix of charaters to shoot into space and wrapped them up in a Claremont esque year-long story.

Here Korvus and Rachel battle it out with the Shi'ar. Their romance was a great central plot of the arc. The way Tan portrayed the Phoenix Blade was another high point of the arc. He also did a great job with Rachel's power set. This page shows both.

Billy Tan has done a lot of great work, but for me, this arc was a high point so far.
