It's highwire tension as it becomes more consuming with the countdown taking over the page graphically! Your imagination takes over as the letters take over completely and even those get obscured with the camera moving in with each beat.
Fantastic page from Nice House on the Lake! I love it when artists use new graphic treatments to make pages more impactful. Certainly Alvaro Martinez Bueno achieved that with this page. I love how the numbers literally grow in size as the countdown continues, then the letters describing the explosion completely take over the panels, still getting larger and larger until the bottom panel is only one letter. Visually, you hear the explosion! Nice trick!
