I'll admit I was a little bitter when I was first got this piece because it's obviously lacking something. Olivier was charging $100 per figure and when I asked his rep if Lockheed could be in there somewhere, he said that would cost another $100 since it's a another character. My contention was (and still is) that Lockheed is Kitty Pryde's accessory, much like Cap's shield or Thor's hammer. She doen't have the most ornate costume and if she's using her powers, part of body won't even be in the picture, so she needs something to make her more graphically interesting. Even so, I wasn't about to drop the extra benjamin. So I groused about it a lot for awhile and annoyed my fellow sketch-hounds.

My friend Bill Nolan gave me some good advice and said that I should stop bitching about what it isn't and focusing on what is: A pretty freakin' kick-ass sketch of Kitty Pryde. Olivier really put a lot of detail into it, especially the hair and face, and with the line he had going, I'm lucky to have it. Thanks, Olivier!!

I couldn't believe it when Olivier's art rep or whoever that was wanted to charge you an extra $100 bucks just to get Lockheed!!! Nice piece, but you're right Lockheed is sorely missed.....nice meeting you at the show too! Best, Ryan

Great piece! I wish you could have had Coipel draw Lockheed, but I agree that his rep should not have tried to charge you for it!
