written by Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen

Giffen and Levitz team up to give us this tale of the the Legion vs. the new Emerald Empress.
Giffen by now has reverted to his 'Kirby' style and told this tale mostly in 9-panel grids

As we pick up the story mid issue, Lightning Lass and Shrinking Violet's Legion cruiser was pulled down to the planet of Orando by the Emerald Empress. The two Legionnaires now find themselves captive of the Empress.
On this page Sun Boy Virtual Reality game is interrupted by Gates informing him that Vi and Ayla's cruiser has crash landed on Orando. Sensor Girl, former queen of Orando is concerned.

Wow, what an interesting experiment to see Giffen doing his Kirby riff but having it inked by a very contemporary and much more detail oriented inked like Dell. I think it works really nicely!
