Captain America #2 (2023) Chris Samnee Variant Cover

Variant cover to Captain America #2 (2023) drawn by Chris Samnee. Published colors by Matt Wilson. So happy to finally add a cover to the Chris Samnee collection. It is now professionally framed with archival materials and displayed on the wall. I tried my best to choose matboard that best matched Matt Wilson’s published colors while not overpowering the art itself.

Note regarding process: Chris used a razoring method to achieve a multitude of the stray spark/ ember/ explosion effects. Very interesting to see in person. Any owners of Samnee original art may notice him use a similar method to achieve rain effects on pieces.
