Description

Stanton Tin Hats Wartime Daily Comic Strip Panel Original Art dated 9-19-1944 (Bell Syndicate, 1944). "What'll we do about Private Twerpy, Sarge? He says he doesn't like it here!" Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 5.75" x 6.75". There is glue residue near the syndicate strip paste-up (which is loose, but included). Toned and in Very Good condition.

I guess Twerpy's the dog in the foxhole with them. A hellscape no man's land that Stanton must have seen firsthand to bring humor to this level of hopelessness.
