Bernie Blood by Gil Fox GGA for GIs

Here is something fun and also apropos for the Remembrance Day. Art done for publication in the Military press by golden age giant Gil Fox. I saw a number of these on Heritage and liked them but held off until the right one came up and here it is. It reminds me a little of the Male Call I have by Caniff. Since these never saw civilian publication they could be a bit more racy in themes and content. There were a lot of artists who contributed comic strips like this and it the number of existing original is quite scarce which makes me wonder what happened to them all. More than likely they were all destroyed or thrown out but I like to think they are all sitting in a few crates in some warehouse somewhere and one day will be discovered.
