Batober 2023: Reveal by Keith Browning

For the prompt “Reveal”, this splendid homage to the 1989 Batman film was Keith’s Batober kickoff for 2023.

I appreciate the symmetry of adding drawings based on Nicholson and Ledger from Keith. What’s more, his approach to the two pieces are as varied as the many interpretations we’ve seen of the Joker over the years.

Where “Undercover” is clean lines and pools of ink, this one has a rougher feel thanks to thin lines, touches of dry brush and even a fingerprint. It’s an approach, and perspective, that fits this moment well.
