Description

In this issue, the Hulk suffers a freak accident and his DNA is combined with that of The Leader, leading to his head becoming elongated. Okay, that's not actually true. The sad explanation is that the talented art team wasn't bringing their A game here -- probably because it was for a tiny 3x5 inch mini comic being given away in packages of Drake's snack cakes in 1994.

Having said that, this issue features two of my favorite characters, Hulk and Gladiator, theoretically meeting for the first time on this page. While the cover says Hulk vs. Gladiator, they really only fight for one page and Gladiator only appears on 3 out of 16 pages. I guess I'm lucky to have gotten a page where he shows up.

The indicia says "Hulk Pantheon Raid", so that's technically the official name of the issue. This is drawn at a smaller than usual size -- the art area is about the size of a comic book.

Little page, but not puny at all with three powerhouses appearing! Yankee Doodles and Devil Dogs are a comic art cake break snack. Hulk looks pretty stylish though. I think they just wanted to fill up more space of these tall panels thinking they might scrunch them down more during the printing process.
