One thing I have come to absolutely love about comic art is how truly unique an artist can be, and Tommaso Di Spigna aka Spugna is one of the most wonderful examples I have found.
I remember the first time I saw Iain Laurie's work and was immediately drawn to how different it looked from anything I had seen before. Spugna's work hits the same. His odd and imaginative cartoon style is truly one of a kind, and it resonates with me.
The following pages are from Spugna's 2017 release, “The Rust Kingdom”. I recently just picked up the oversized and colorful Necromancer edition, and it is a gorgeous sight to behold. Spugna has successfully created his own world with this book, and it is a visceral, weird, and very beautiful thing.
Sincere thanks to Spugna and
Cart Gallery! Thrilled to have some original pages from this book.
