Milton Caniff - Terry and the Pirates - 11 June 1936

I was fortunate to have been able to assemble four (4) consecutive Caniff dailies from Terry and the Pirates. This was the story that introduced Burma to the strip where she would be a recurring character.

In this story, Terry, Pat, and Burma arrive on what they thought was a deserted island only to find a plantation had been built. After Pat spurned Burma's affections, she goes after the wealthy landowner... who is oblivious to the fact that Burma is making his wife jealous.

In this daily, the second of four, Wendy goes upstairs to prepare for battle... she gets her hair done, puts on makeup, and pulls out the slinky red dress...
