Lord of the Rings Storyboard 1978 Boromir - Mike Ploog

Storyboard/Sketch of Boromir by Mike Ploog for the 1978 Ralph Bakshi Lord of the Rings animated film.
Heritage description says Boromir, though this is much different from the final Viking-like version of the movie. (See secondary image). Tolkien wasn't huge on physical description, though I believe the illustration is an interesting take on the character. Described "as a tall man with a fair and noble face, dark-haired and grey-eyed, proud and stern of glance" and "Aragorn was tallest of the company, but Boromir, little less in height, was broader and heavier in build". This depiction certainly sets him apart from the kingly, full Numenorean Aragorn.
