Description
I've had this page for some time now, but for whatever reason I never scanned or posted it. It is a nice sequential piece to the Elementals page I posted the other day. This page features Monolith when he accidentally crushes Annihilator, while on the next page the realization that he is dead.

I'm always looking for any other pages from Elementals # 1 & 2 if anyone has any to trade or sell!

This was such a shocking moment. Because by this time in my comic book reading, I had already given thought to things such as "How come nobody ever gets injured, maimed or killed whenever these superheroes practice their skills or fight their foes? So this entire scene featuring the accidental killing of Annihilator was so awesome, because I finally felt comics were being written realistically!

I completely agree, this course down a darker path added that touch of realism to this series for me as well. I guess I was at the right age, as an early teen, when I originally read this that I was ready to digest more realistic deaths in comics. If I was a younger age, it may have been too harsh to accept.

Great layout!  Willingham razzle dazzles in this aerial combat page!  The way he designed the look for these characters has a lot of X-Men and Marvel parallels that made the Elementals easily identifiable to audiences.

Thanks for sharing this Rich, I love it! Great how the blast goes through several panels and Vortex hovers above the panels. I just reread the first few issues, it still holds up!
